How to Use Children's Sermons
Children's Sermons allows members access to a wide variety of materials you can use to enrich your sermons and the worship services of your congregation. Virtually the entire catalog of CSS Publications is available to you. Here is how to use Children's Sermons:
- The first step in using Children's Sermons is to become a member. You will need to select a membership level based upon what resourcs you will want to use:
Level 1 - Sermons and Sermon Illustrations Level 2 - Sermons, Sermon Illustrations, and Childrens´ Sermons Level 3 - Sermons, Sermon Illustrations, Childrens´ Sermons and Worship Aids Level 4 - Sermons, Sermon Illustrations, Childrens´ Sermons, Worship Aids, and Dramas
- The next step is to Log In at the home page.
- Once you are loged into the site you will perform a search for resources using one of these methods:
a) Quick Search by Keywords, b) Scripture Search by Book of Scripture, both old and new testament, and Chapter, c) Lectionary Search by Cycle Year, A, B or C, and Lectionary Week using the Revised Common, Episcopal, Roman Catholic and Lutheran (ELCA) lectionaries d) Life of Christ, using pericopes
- Each of the four search methods will return sermons, illustrations, dramas, etc., and fields or drop down menus are provided to help faclitate your search.
- Once all of the search criteria are entered or selected, then you simply click the "Search" button.
- The Children's Sermons search engine will then look for all the matching instances of the criteria you requested in our extensive database of resources. There may be a brief wait while an outline of all the matching content records is prepared and displayed.
- In order to view each individual content item, you simply click on the underlined title of the content and Children's Sermons will display a page with that specific content for your review and use. If you wish, you can select the content and copy and paste it into your own word processing document.
